Chanel Fall/Winter 2010 Couture Collection First Impressions/Opinions

My personal opinion:
one of my favorite pieces in this entire collection has got to be the jackets matched with bunches of bracelets, i have a real thing for fur so i was really happy to see some animals on the run way (PETA can take the liberty to throw animal blood at me or something for saying that)

i really enjoyed the transition from professional to couture throughout the entire show (which you can see on the Chanel website)
i really liked the floor length coats, they really reflected Chanel's simple but intricate brand, as well as the shorter jackets with gold buttons

of the dresses my favorite was probably one closer to the end, the silver/white and green dress with the gold accents with the crop "shirt" over the dress. i think thats one idea that i really liked about the show, the fact that a lot of the pieces had a cropped top over a dress, thats something i havent seen as really a theme in shows.
karl lagerfeld is a truly classy and skilled designer, he has an eye for details

i must say the one thing i wasnt too fond of was the shoe style that was used, i liked the heel but it felt very, uhm, robin hood to me, although on the dress piece that i mentioned above as well as another one shown that is a dark sapphire type blue with gold detailing, i like how the shoes compliment the piece instead of being one of the tan/biege/black type that was featured throughout the show

overall i really did like the show

My thoughts:

I just went through Chanel’s Winter Couture 2010 line and I was surprised. No granted I’m still a n00b at reviewing lines so bare with me (or read Bar’s because it will most likely be better than mine). But regardless I was very satisfied with the line. It began with the usual suits that were of course to die for but they weren’t anything surprising.

It wasn’t until the more intricate items came out. Karls use of different textures, fabric and styles may be uncohesive to some but I thought he pulled it off flawlessly.

Straight up I wasn’t diggin the boots at all, they were scrunchie and reminded me of DJ Tanner but the rest of the line was amazing and the end surprise made the show. I loved the use of croptop(ness) and It was all pulled together by the gorgeous models. And….I love lions.

Four for you Karl….you go Karl
